Thanks for sharing. I often ask myself (as I'm sure many do), what impact am I going to have on the people I've encountered? How will I be remembered? I definitely hope I will be remembered as having a positive impact on people's lives. Coming from an "interesting" family, I've been hyperfocused on leaving my kids with the things I wish I was given to help me through life and understand things a little clearer. I was a very confused kid🤣, and I learned most lessons the hard way. It's hard to determine what things you think your kids need to learn themselves, and what things you need to be a "hover parent" and prevent them from experiencing. ♥️
Some things I can explain to my boys. Sometimes life has to explain itself through experience. For our homeschool curriculum, I always incorporate a “doing” portion to the part that I teach. It might mean learning how to use a tool or driving a nail. It might mean carrying something heavy for someone. They mainly learn not from listening to me, but by watching me.
Especially as a homeschool parent, you’re always wondering, “am I giving them enough?”
